Assistant Merchandiser

About the team:


Headed up by Natalie (Nats), the 11-strong Merchandising team play a key role in maximising Long Tall Sally’s profitability by predicting and monitoring sales trends and accurately controlling stock levels. The Merch team love a spreadsheet and are meticulously organised.


The role:


  • • Responsible for assisting the Senior Merchandiser in the day to day running of the Merchandising department.
  • • Managing commitment to ensure on time delivery through working with the Buying teams and liaising with the Warehouse.
  • • Liaising directly with the Marketing team to ensure stock availability for launch.
  • • WSSI updating and management.
  • • Line card management. Responsibility to ensure that all key lines are fully stocked in all markets.
  • • Forecasting sales and stock level to achieve sales plans and margin/profit for the category.
  • • Working alongside the Senior Merchandiser and agreeing the strategy and targets for the category.
  • • Executing markdown strategy.
  • • Manage and Develop a Merchandising Admin Assistant – overseeing the allocation process.
  • • Analyse sales patterns, trends and history. Make commercial suggestions to influence future buys.

Required experience and skills:

Quality Assurance Analyst (QAA)

The Role:

Our website is key to our business and the tester role is key to ensuring the quality of every release. This role is all about finding ways to break new or existing functionality, so that we can find issues and resolve them before our Customers are impacted.

We update our site on a regular basis and the team is expanding to increase the content of each release. The successful candidate will be working alongside our existing tester to support this growth.

Our backlog covers everything from payment integrations, translation APIs, custom promotions and much more and this role is key to delivering it. This is a great opportunity to be part of some major changes in the LTS business.


Duties & Responsibilities of QAA:

  • • Reviews business requirements and clarifies expectations with Business Analyst/Product Owner
  • • Analyses acceptance criteria in user stories and identifies tests to validate success
  • • Maintains and adds to existing suite of automated tests
  • • Reviews daily automated testing reports, investigates issues and creates bugs where needed
  • • Identifies issues in testing and discusses with developers before raising bugs
  • • Completes manual and automated functional and regression testing across all environments and devices
  • • Reviews session recordings and creates bugs covering live issues
  • • Prioritises workload and escalates as needed to ensure deliverables are met on schedule
  • • Supports agile processes and methodologies used within team
  • • Participates in sprint meetings (prioritisation, planning, retrospectives and daily standups)
  • • Identifies and promotes improvements in communications, process and tooling as part of retrospective
  • • Manage samples and products that come into the business. Ensuring that selected samples arrive on time and are recorded. Keeping garment rails, sample room and shelves organised and tidy, ensuring fire exits are kept clear at all times.

Required Skills:

  • • Ticket management tooling experience (JIRA/Fogbugz/Mantis or similar)
  • • Able to manage their own tasks and strongly detail-oriented
  • • Excellent communication skills in English; both oral and written
  • • Ecommerce platform experience (Demandware, Magento, Intershop, IBM Websphere or SAP hybris)
  • • Ability to think in innovative and creative ways
  • • Operates at all times with integrity; adheres to the highest ethical standards in all interactions
  • • At least 1 year of industrial experience in a similar role

Desirable Skills & Requirements:

  • • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a computer-related or business analysis discipline
  • • SAP hybris experience/certification
  • • ISEB/ISTQB Qualifications
  • • Tracking and reporting on testing activities
  • • Selenium web driver/Robots framework exposure
  • • Experience testing REST web services
  • • Atlassian Jira, Confluence tool exposure and administration

The role:

Our website is the key sales channel for the LTS business and our in-house Web team is responsible for growing and maintaining the platform and infrastructure it runs on. Our current team works on a wide variety of tasks including the following:

Duties & Responsibilities of all Developers:

  • • Adopting agile processes and methodologies to improve team workflow.
