Our Design team talks Urban Cowgirl

The lowdown on our latest A/W collection from the women who made it happen

The ethos behind our new Urban Cowgirl collection? Think ethnic California; navajo prints, prairie plaids, lush textures, suedes and leathers. It's an incredibly evocative collection.

One of the standout pieces of the collection is the suede skirt. Our Design and Buying teams spent months creating the perfect piece; from the kid soft suede to the authentic seaming to the patch pockets.

It's all about the suede this season. And this skirt is the game changer.

Introducing the team, from left to right: Chrissie, Billie, Carol and Lynne. These women are the inspiration behind each Long Tall Sally collection. From moodboard to final fits, they oversee every inch of the process, ensuring the end garment is true to its original design.

The beauty of Urban Cowgirl is that it's designed for layering. Start from the ground up with leather or suede knee boots, adding jerseys, knits and textures as you go. It's effortless!

- Carol

Coats and wraps are a defining feature of the collection.

This wrap coat is such a strong piece. Wear it with a denim skirt or back to black - it's so wearable.

- Lynne

The inspiration for the blanket coat, one of the hero pieces of the collection, came from an unexpected source.

The starting point was my retro Starsky cardigan! Lovely and chunky with a real 70s check.

- Carol

There's a delicously rich earthiness about the palette. Tonal shades of tan, rust and camel all sit seamlessly with authentic ranch hand true-blue jeans.

Take the look in a new direction with fabric and textile mixing. Pair folksy forager prints with suede fringing for an unexpected twist.

- Chrissie

For Christmas we're adding new prints and pieces - it's a collection destined to grow!
