When you’re a tall mom-to-be, comfort is everything but pregnancy doesn’t – and shouldn’t – spell the end of your style game.

THE ESSENTIALS:

“I'm currently pregnant and I bought an XL just to be safe because I wasn't sure how stretchy the fabric was - it's very stretchy. The fabric is luxurious, has a slight sheen. I can wear it with leggings or yoga pants, and actually it makes a VERY COMFY nightgown.” – Shelly, 5'11”

“I've worn them religiously right through my pregnancy, and they're comfortable, flattering, well-fitting and attractive. I'm 6"1, quite curvy, and the 36" leg is the perfect length. I would recommend these to any tall ladies struggling to find a good pair of maternity jeans!” – Mairead, 6’0”

Being 6'1" I have a hard enough time finding clothing that can fit my crazy proportions correctly, add pregnancy to the mix and it makes it pretty much an impossible task to find anything that fits. Enter LTS, I have lived in the black maternity leggings since I first found out that I was pregnant last fall, they are perfect to dress up or down.

GETTING BACK TO YOU: STYLE TIPS FOR DURING & AFTER THE BUMP

Of course, there are some days in which sweatpants and an old t-shirt are the best armor for the onslaught of the day, but if you've got the inclination and five extra minutes to spare, here's some extremely quick tricks and essential items that will keep any tall mom looking effortlessly classy:

1. Let go of your tall maternity wear.

We know it’s become your trusty friend over the past six months or so, but consider putting an X on the calendar three months after the due date. When the day comes, take all of your maternity wear and put it somewhere not readily accessible - relying on it in your post-pregnancy life is a surefire way to get yourself stuck in a style rut.

2. Keep it breathable

The secret pregnancy style weapon? It's got to be the longline jersey tank - really stretchy, super breathable and incredibly versatile both during and after pregnancy. Even better when the fabric blend is cotton rich.

3. Easy access

When you're breastfeeding, you want something that's both comfortable and practical. A dress with a wrap front is your best option, with easy access not coming at the expense of style.

4. Be kind to yourself. You're gorgeous!

Each and every pregnant woman is beautiful, and radiates gorgeousness wherever she goes. Never forget it, and always dress in a way that makes you feel great, both inside and out!

IN A SURVEY OF 3,000 WOMEN...

We recently surveyed 3,000 women to ask their thoughts on a variety of footwear issues, and an interesting thing came up regarding pregnancy: your foot size does change.

Naturally this introduces the need for practicality when considering footwear, but there’s also a very good psychological reason to treat yourself to some gorgeous new shoes. When you've been living in shabby sneakers for the last god-knows-how-long, you'll be surprised at how much a good pair of shoes will lift your spirits and break you out of a pregnancy style rut. Moreover, once you start with the shoes, you'll find it very difficult to not jazz up your outfit to match. It's a winning move all round.
