• Congratulations Rio #TEAMTALLGIRLS

Divided by nation, united by height. We're celebrating the tallest medalist at this year's Olympic games.

  • Lisa Unruh | 5' 10" | Archery

Recurve archery expert Lisa Unruh has been winning medals internationally for a decade, but her exceptional performance at Rio 2016 marked her first Olympic win.

  • P. V. Sindhu | 5'10" | Badminton

Despite being up against fierce competition at this year’s Olympic badminton competition, Pusaria Sindhu’s silver medal win in the women’s single event made her the first Indian player to reach the final of an Olympic badminton event (and the youngest Indian to have ever made a podium finish in the sport.)

  • Brittney Griner | 6'8" | Basketball

Multiple-record breaking Griner is a formidable force on the court. With only four other international players taller than her, Griner put her height to good use and slam dunked her way to gold (and even made it look relatively easy in the process!)

  • Kira Walkenhorst | 6' | Beach Volleyball

Together with her longtime team mate Laura Ludwig, tall stunner Kira Walkenhorst clinched the top spot at the Rio in a close-cut battle against tournament hosts Brazil.

  • Claressa Shields | 5'10" | Boxing

Shields isn’t a stranger to Olympic success, having also won gold at the London Olympics in 2012. Her trophy cabinet probably looks very impressive given that she also holds two gold medals from the World Championships and one from the Pan American games.

  • Ciara Horne | 5'10" | Cycling - Track

A true British cycling hero, having represented Ireland via her mother’s lineage at an international level before switching nationality to ride for the Welsh cycling team (her father was born in the Vale of Glamorgan.) Holding a dual nationality, she was singled out for the Great British team at Rio and went on to win gold.

  • Yana Egorian | 5'9" | Fencing

Been gifted at the art of sabre fencing since the young age of six, Armenian-born Egorian ratcheted up not just one, but two gold medals at this year’s games (both individual and as a team.)

  • Giselle Ansley | 5'9" | Field Hockey

The final game of the Rio hockey tournament this year had millions of viewers around the world chewing their nails as it all came down to a single penalty shot - ultimately, Team GB came good and secured Ansley’s first Olympic gold.

  • Zhu Ting | 6'6" | Volleyball

Leading the phenomenal 3-1 win over Netherlands is Zhu Ting. Standing at 6'6" she recorded 33 points, including 31 spikes and two blocks!

  • Erica Wiebe | 5'9" | Wrestling

The 27 year old force has previously won gold in the 2104 Commonwealth games but her win in Rio marked the 4th gold for Canada.

  • Ashleigh Johnson | 6'1" | Water Polo

The US water polo goalie's fierce blocks sent Team US to taking the gold at Rio. Johnson has also taken several gold's at FINA World League Super Finals.
