Tall Tales from Toronto

Just checked out Long Tall Sally's 'Gym and Swim' section which got me thinking.....

Part of me feels sorry for anyone who has to resort to talking seriously about Rollerblading. It's a sport that stopped being cool about nine or ten years ago, but some people never got over the height of inline skating's popularity that peaked in 1996.

I owned a pair of knock-off Rollerblades made by Variflex that were neon green and black in the early 90s. They'd heat up to about 100F in the summer since they were made out of some futuristic polymer that retained heat really well, and rolling over anything by the newest buttery blacktop would result in vibrations to the extent that I was worried about nerve damage when I was 13 years old.

Getting towed behind a car or bike on pavement was like operating a jackhammer for several hours. I'm proud that I was able to give up Rollerblading, and I now only resort to talking about it derisively.....LTS's Hawaiian bikini is perfect rollerblading wear, don't ya' think?
