Lisa's Style Diary

So, Christmas is coming and the cold weather is fast approaching even now I am practically living in my LTS dressing gown! It’s so warm it’s like getting into a giant teddy bear with its cosy hood and really long sleeves.

Do you know how great it is to find a dressing gown that’s the right length?! It actually reaches my ankles- Where it should be! It’s so funny because when I’m wearing it my little kitten keeps coming up and pawing me, like I’m her mother!

Another item you’ll see me constantly wearing through the cold months ahead is the Grace coat.  It’s my absolute favourite buy, of the whole LTS catalogue; I’ve actually got four of them. My mother has one and so do my two children- God, forbid if we were ever to go out wearing them all at the same time, we’d look so ridiculous!

I just think it’s such a lovely coat, a true wardrobe staple and the shape is so flattering! Although it is all about the collar for me, it definitely makes the coat. Some faux fur can look quite cheap but this fur collar really makes the outfit special.

I’m a last minute planner I don’t know what I am going to wear until the evening of an event. I just go with what is hanging up in my wardrobe at the time.  With plenty of Christmas parties to prepare for I am always in need of something glamorous to wear!

I like to jazz up an outfit with accessorises, you can take the simplest outfit and make it look fabulous just by adding a chic pair of gloves for pure fifties glamour.

I also like to inject some Christmas sparkle to my outfits with gorgeous jewellery. I love all the cuffs that are around at the moment, if you are long and tall they work really well as they are statement pieces. Big watches, brooches and a pair of chandelier earrings are also a popular choice this season they can instantly turn a day outfit into eveningwear and look great if you are tall.

I just can’t wait for the party season to come around so I can wear it all!

Nice blog Lisa! It is great to hear some things I have been saying to myself for so long about wanting robes that touch your ankles - where they are supposed to be. I am 6'1" and my favorite item this fall is the LTS Tokyo Kimono Coat. The style of the coat is tailored and very flattering to the figure. It is not very cold in Southern California where I reside. So a coat of that type is perfect for this mild winter weather. I have yet to purchase one because I have missed the opportunity to purchase the coat 2nd year. Please bring it back for the winter so I can add this great coat next to the Trench coat and Grace coat I have purchased.

Hi Lisa, Sally, and the rest! I am 6'1", and own a women's shoe boutique -- www.BarefootTess.com - specializing in shoes up to size 15! I was sick of being offered 'comfort' or mens' shoes, and so 4 years ago I started convincing the designers I liked to make shoes in larger lasts. I am now proud to carry worldwide exclusives by designers like Delman, Matt Bernson, Loeffler Randall, Faryl Robin, and more, plus my own line Barefoot Tess. I have a blog talking about the store and being tall in general - http://barefoottess.wordpress.com - that also covers all of the deals and discounts we offer. We are currently having our first annual Barefoot Tess Shoe-per Bowl, and the winner will receive $500 of free shoes! Love your blog, and just wanted to let you know about a fellow tall girl's experiences! Tess
