Diary of a tall girl

Wimbledon

You know its Summer when Wimbledon hits our screens; lashings of strawberries and cream, washed down with jugs of Pimms on Henman Hill. I’m just so glad to see this year’s tournament has bought some sunshine!!

 Saying that I’m not a huge tennis fan but I am partial to a bit of Wimbledon. I mean where else do you find a sport which consists of fellow tall contestants? Apart from say, basketball?! Many people think that because you are tall, you must automatically be good at tennis- I think it’s the whole longer arms and legs thing! But I’m afraid to say this is not the case (Well for me anyway) it’s more to do with poor co-ordination, so I admire the (Tall) professionals. I mean take Venus Williams, she's 6”1. Someone asked her the other day whilst at Wimbledon if being tall is a disadvantage to her. To which she replied;

"When I walk behind short people, I feel like I'm going to fall over because I start taking these little steps, and I can't take little steps, I take big steps. I've always been large, always been tall. I don't know anything about small."
Venus clearly embraces being tall and uses it to her advantage. However, at 6”3 inches, Akgul Amanmuradova from Uzbekistan is the tallest female tennis player. All this tennis talk has inspired me to unleash my Summer whites (And, I’m not talking about my legs before you ask!)  I opted for my favourite LTS Summer skirt, the lightweight cotton design is ideal for keeping cool. A floppy brimmed hat and simple vest, at least I’m dressed for the part to watch the tennis! Come on Murray!

I was so disappointed that Murray lost! Roddick played so well though. I am going to try and get tickets to Wimbledon next year and being a tall girl (6"0) I will be dressed head to toe in LTS!
