Ask Lisa

Hi Lisa

I would like to ask about cleavage!! In my experience LTS dresses are low cut.  This is great- but I have a big bust and it leaves me with a lot of cleavage and makes me feel awkward.

Is there a way around it?

Thanks

Hi

Good underwear is an essential foundation to any outfit – especially if you want to make the most of a great cleavage.  If you still feel awkward and the dress is too low even with a well fitting bra, layer a vest or pretty camisole underneath. However, if the style of dress is very fitted and a vest would look bulky opt for a fine knit cardigan that you can button up.

All the best

Lisa

Hi Lisa iI want to ask you about how to wear a pair of skinny jeans without making myself looking too skinny. I am 21 and weigh just over 8 stones and when ever i wear skinny jeans my legs seem to look really long and i look even taller. Thanks

Hi Lisa I know this will appear obsequious but nonetheless here goes - I love your choices and the fact that the brochure/website features you modelling the clothes. As someone of a similiar stature and colouring it really helps when making selections. I am 6' 3" tall and slim and I have just bought the grey Molly faux fur jacket. Could you please advise me on what best to wear with the jacket. Do you feel the jacket is best matched with skinnies and boots, skirt with boots or shoes or with a dress. I want a 'look' that complements and enhances the jacket. Your thoughts would be very much appreciated. Hugs Trixie x

Hello Lisa, I wonder if you could give me some advise. I am unfortunatly "gifted" with broad shoulders - having to buy size 16 - and much smaller hips - size 42 European. Could you please tell me which clothes styles fit me best so I do not accentuate my shoulders, and look better proportioned, I am quite sporty and am not really in for frills etc. Oh yes I am tall as well ;-) 190 or 6ft 3 (?). Thanks for the advise Kind regards Anke PS the site looks great and the clothes too PPS I am a continental lady if that would matter in "your" choise of clothes

Dear Lisa, I have an idea and wondered whether you could give me some advice on how to publicise it? Based on the BBC TV show "Twiggy's Frock Exchange", women bring along clothes they no longer want, and swap them for something new (to them)! The parties are for women who are 5ft 11" and over. Long leggy women only girls! On arrival, each woman gets a slip of paper stating what they've brought along with them. You can swap the same number of items that you bring along. For example, if you bring four items of clothing, you can do four swaps. I haven't organised any parties yet, just trying to publicise it to see who might come along. Thanks for any advice Lisa! Lizzie x PS.. I've got a Blog aswell: http://lizjoseph.blogspot.com/

Hello! I was looking through the dresses in the catalogues and feel that very few of them would suit my particular shape. I'm about 6ft, size 10 but with a small bust! All the evening desses with the exception of Saskia are very low cut and rely on someone having a larger bust. I wonder if you could include more styles that are not so low and more suitable for girls with smaller chests?

Hi Lucy Thank you for your comment! If you feel some of the dresses are a little low cut for your frame you could always wear a camisole underneath. It's about making the most of what you've got! The maxi dresses Lana and Esther would look great on your physique and are not too low cut. The Oxford shift dress is also a classic buy but with a high neckline, it can be worn in the day for work with an oversize bag or jazzed up with a great belt or brooch for an evening look. Lisa

Hi Lizzie A tall clothes swap party is a great idea! It all sounds very exciting and as if your plans are already in motion. For further publicity I would email all my tall friends, post your idea on social networking sites, produce flyers and even contact your local newspaper to spread the word. Goodluck! Lisa

Hi Anke Firstly, it is a wonderful thing to have broad shoulders and small hips as opposed to the other way around. You need to think about detracting attention from your shoulders and focusing the attention somewhere else. You should steer clear of tops with a slight puff sleeve, shoe string straps, double breasted jackets and racer back tops as these will just draw attention to your shoulders. You could wear t-shirts and tops in a v neck with a stylish scarf or necklace to draw attention to the front of your chest and not your shoulders. Single breasted jackets would also look great on your physique. I hope this helps! Lisa

Hi Trixie Thank you for your comment. I would wear the Molly faux fur jacket with a great pair of skinnies, blue but not black as sometimes black can look a bit harsh. A pair of high waisted flares would also look good and give the outfit a real 70's feel. As the jacket is a statement in itself it doesn’t really need accessories, my advice is to keep it simple! Hello Sarah I often have the same problem I would wear a pair of knee high or calf length boots with your skinny jeans as they will add definition to slim legs. From experience flat shoes and pumps will just make your legs look even slimmer. Hope this helps Lisa

[Trackback] You know in this industry it gets kinda hard finding a site that has some great content, I run into a lot of "Trash" but this is a really good site, keep it going.
