A day in the life of a designer..

Bars with uneven floors?

I have been having a celebrity week this week catching up with Closer and Grazia – but you know I am getting quite confused as all these celebrity faces seem to be morphing into each other.  Is Roger Moore changing into Jack Nicholson and is Guy Ritchie turning into my friend Simeon? Sean Penn is now definitely a doppelganger for Big Bob De Niro – And which one is Melanie Griffiths and which one is Meg Ryan??????

One celebrity it was great to see was Jodie Kidd taking part in “Strictly Come Dancing”. I really appreciate a 6ft 2 inch lady ballroom dancing.  As a tall girl at a girl’s school I only ever got to learn the men’s steps and now when I try to dance with my boyfriend we always end up rowing because he says I lead all the time….

Does anyone else have that problem?

Talking of tall girl problems – I read an interview with Jodie Kidd where she said that she doesn’t wear high heels because it means that people have to shout up to talk to her. I’m glad someone else suffers with that too. One of my best friends is 4ft 11in and I quite often can’t hear her when we are out in a bar – if we are standing up its completely impossible.

It would be great to select friends by height but that has proved difficult so far… Maybe bars could introduce uneven floors,  and then maybe we would all drink less as we might feel drunk quicker – it’s just a theory.

At least I am not going deaf; it’s just a common tall girl problem...

I have the same trouble at social events and often give up on trying to hear the conversation and just sort of zone out! Mind you, I refuse to give up wearing high heels as even at 5 foot 11 I feel kind of dumpy without them. I suggest you get all your short friends to wear sky high platforms and meet you half way ;-)

Officially I measure 5ft 8 inches but some people think I am 5ft 9 1/2inches. I look like a giant in photos next to people who are 5ft 5 and I was frequently taller than people at school. I don't wear heels now as I've had 3 kids and the youngest one is still a baby. Although I have been tempted by some in Clarks I'm gonna have to take ettiquette lessons to learn how to walk in them again!. So how you girls manage being taller than me only heaven knows. Plus my hubby is 5ft 11. Tried to get taller but thats what I'm working with and any type of heel sends me taller than him although he's never complained.

[Trackback] I like the design of this page. The info is right on target and is unique. I like a site like this that stays on topic. Good job.
